While our competitive team may not have graced the LANXESS arena during IEM Cologne 2023, the spirit of BIG resonated vibrantly as we immersed ourselves in an array of engaging activities and events over the momentous weekend. Anchored by our commitment to our devoted fan base, we crafted an unforgettable experience that celebrated German esports and the BIG Family.
At the heart of our presence was the dynamic BIG Booth nestled within the arena. A hub of excitement, the booth invited fans to partake in an array of activities, including thrilling CS:GO 1v1 challenges against our skilled professionals, a spin-the-wheel game offering unique prizes, an opportunity to experience the new Backforce BIG Edition, and an exclusive chance for receiving signatures from our players. Fans could also indulge in the official ESL signing session at the partner tent in case they weren’t able to catch their favorite player beforehand.
A highlight of the first day was the Roaring Bears fan march—an annual tradition that has truly taken root. Gathering outside the venue, a fervent procession led by the Roaring Bears fan club, accompanied by some of our players and staff, embarked on a march around the arena. This grand spectacle, complete with a special Roaring Bears banner, showcased the unwavering dedication of our fans and left an indelible mark on the event. The resounding impact of their fervor was acknowledged by various news portals and publications, underscoring their pivotal role in shaping esports fan culture.
Undoubtedly, the BIG Overtime Party co-hosted with Red Bull marked another unforgettable chapter of IEM Cologne. Responding to valuable feedback from the previous year, we expanded the party venue to accommodate over 1500 enthusiasts. The night saw a sea of BIG jerseys as friends and fans reveled in an unforgettable evening of celebration and unity. This magnificent turnout only deepened our sense of gratitude for the enduring support that continues to fuel our journey. With anticipation, we look forward to the next edition of IEM Cologne and the exhilarating prospects it holds for another grand gathering.
