Berlin, July 17, 2024 – Berlin International Gaming (BIG) is delighted to announce the return of Tobias “tow b” Herberhold to our coaching staff as Performance Manager. Tow b, previously our head coach during our most successful period in 2020, brings a wealth of experience and expertise back to the team.
Tow b originally stepped down from his role in 2021 due to personal reasons, requiring more time for his family and business commitments at SkinBaron. His return is fueled by his ambition to once again work with our roster and help shape it both in and around the game, collaborating closely with Head Coach Alexander “kakafu” Szymanczyk and Team Captain Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz.
During his tenure as head coach, tow b was instrumental in propelling BIG to become the best team in the world in 2020. His strategic acumen and leadership were pivotal to our success during that period. Now, as Performance Manager, he aims to build on that legacy, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of competitive esports.

I am thrilled to welcome “tow b” back to BIG. He will strengthen our coaching team alongside Head Coach Alexander “kakafu” Szymanczyk and Assistant Coach Dustin “DuDe” Großmann as a Performance Coach. Tow b’s return marks a significant milestone for us; given his invaluable contributions and deep-rooted history with our team and players, he is the perfect piece we’ve been missing.
He will not only support our team on a strategic level but also foster a positive and productive environment. As Performance Coach, I am committed to supporting the team in every aspect, bringing my experience and passion to help our players reach their fullest potential. Returning to BIG feels like coming home. The bonds I’ve formed with the team, the coaches, and the staff are incredibly strong, and I am excited to contribute to our collective success. My focus will be on enhancing the performance and well-being of our players, ensuring they have all the tools they need to excel.
With my experience, I will also be able to assist with in-game specific problems, providing valuable insights and solutions. My primary goal will be to ensure that we consistently perform at our best, maintaining a high level of performance at all times. Additionally, I aim to introduce processes that will help sustain and guarantee our performance.
I look forward to working closely with everyone at BIG, from our talented players and coaches to our dedicated support staff. Together, we will strive to achieve new heights and continue building on the legacy of excellence that defines BIG.
