What were your expectations at the start of the ESLM season, and how do you view your performance in the group stage?
My expectations for the current ESLM season were, and still are, naturally very high, since we won the last two times and of course want to defend our title. Unfortunately, we were very inconsistent at the start of the season, but we found our footing as the season went on, which played a major part in us qualifying for the finals.
Just under three weeks until the big ESL Meisterschaft final. What's the mood in the team right now? How are you preparing for the big final in Hannover?
The mood is naturally great and everyone can hardly wait to play on LAN in front of a crowd again. Preparations are in full swing and the focus is almost entirely on this one BO3.
How was the transition into the IGL role for you? How do you assess your IGL role?
The transition was naturally not easy at first, but I put in a lot of work to make it easier on myself. By now I'm fully in it and grateful for the switch, because it's given me a completely different perspective on the game.
How do you rate ALTERNATE aTTaX? What are their strengths and weaknesses?
aTTaX play very controlled in my opinion, without many holes, which naturally makes it hard to find a timing. However, I think individual skill can be a weakness for them, depending on the day of course.
There were big differences between your last group stage game and the upper bracket final match against aTTaX. How did you prepare for them?
We worked a lot on our own mistakes and focused on ourselves. In the end, it was most important to go into the game with the right mentality and show confidence on the server.
Where are you especially strong, and what do you still need to improve specifically?
I think we're individually very strong and on a good day we can outaim any team. Our weakness is still achieving consistency, especially when we start a game poorly.
This will be the last ESLM season. What do you hope for German CS in 2024?
I naturally hope that there will be other German cups or leagues in the future and that many teams will keep grinding, even if there is no longer a German league.
Aside from qualifying for the LAN finals: What was your best moment this season?
My best moment of the season was definitely our run in Romania, where we made it all the way to the final. Our recent ESEA season was also very strong and we picked up some very good wins here. That was definitely a highlight for me as well.
