Almost a month ago, you were called up to the main team. How does that feel now?
It feels very special. Even though some things become more routine from time to time, I always try to appreciate what a privilege it is to play here. My family and friends were especially happy about it too. Everyone supports me a lot and I really appreciate that.
What role do you take on in the team, and how quickly were you able to settle in?
Not much has changed from my roles on the Academy team. In the game itself, maybe a few different roles here and there. What has changed, of course, is the team and how much impact other players have, especially when it comes to communication or calls that are now important on their positions.
At IEM Cologne, we saw that you pushed and motivated each other tremendously. What does this event mean to you personally?
Cologne is the most important event for me of all. Playing in front of German fans is, I think, not only a dream of mine, but of every German pro player. Before the tournament, we told ourselves that we should keep motivating and hyping each other – even more than before. I think the synergy with S3nsey contributed a lot to that.
Unfortunately, it wasn't enough this time. How did you handle that as a team?
I think it was a big setback for everyone because everyone believed in it 100 percent. After the game, it was of course very difficult, but in the end we reminded each other that everyone really gave everything.
Your prediction: Who wins IEM Cologne this year?
I think Heroic will win because they're the most consistent team in the world right now.
How do you deal with the pressure at these top-tier events? What does it mean to you to play against the best teams in the world?
The pressure was a bit higher in the first matches, and it will always be there, but I have a very good team I can rely on. I can focus very well on my game because I know the boys will do their job well.
Playing tier 1 means everything to me, because it's the pinnacle of Counter-Strike and thus has the highest competitive drive.
What's coming up in the next few weeks?
In the next few weeks, of course, we have training on the agenda and every now and then a few online matches too. For me personally, the goal now is to be best prepared for the Pro League in September so we can show ourselves as a team much better there.
Where will prosus be in a year, and what role will CS2 play?
The question isn't that easy to answer, but what I can say is that I'm very motivated and will of course continue to give everything.
I'm very positive about CS2. I think CS2 can significantly surpass everything CS:GO has achieved so far.
