The casting phase for the official OMEN Academy team begins on September 17, 2018, with Michele "zonixx" Köhler
Hundreds of applications, replays, and cover letters. Each application represents not only the desire to become part of Berlin International Gaming, but a dream. The dream of one day competing as a member of a tight-knit team in Cologne's Lanxess Arena, the "Cathedral of Counter-Strike", fighting together for prestigious titles and being cheered on by thousands of roaring fans round by round, game by game, is a unique vision. Only a very small fraction of players who pursue this goal energetically every day will ultimately achieve it and make their dream come true.Since the start of the official application phase, our expert team led by Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk and Michele "zonixx" Köhler has been intensively analyzing the applications received. At this point, we would like to sincerely thank everyone on behalf of BIG for the enthusiastic participation and the many detailed applications. The review also made clear that there is a high number of promising talents active in the German-speaking region. The selection process was accordingly difficult.
Ultimately, we had to make a decision. The following candidates will get to prove themselves in the final casting phase for the OMEN Academy team:
To ensure the best possible evaluation of the participants, our experts Michele "zonixx" Köhler and Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk have agreed on a two-stage casting system. Additionally, they reserve the right to nominate replacements and swap players during the ongoing casting phase.
CASTING PHASE I
After team assignment by our experts, the assembled teams will face off against each other in BO2 format on the following Monday (September 17, 2018) and Tuesday (September 18, 2018), starting at 6:00 PM CET each day. Michele "zonixx" Köhler will focus particularly on the candidates' tactical, in-game, and communication skills on his channel (Link: twitch.tv/zonixxcs).
CASTING PHASE II
After the first phase concludes, our expert team will narrow it down to the top ten candidates. The remaining players will be divided into two teams again and face off in a BO3 final. After the final concludes, our expert team will deliberate once more and subsequently present our official OMEN Academy team.
