Major signing: BIG sign blameF from fnatic as Captain/IGL, tiziaN returns as Assistant Coach

Two key additions strengthen leadership and structure ahead of BIG’s 2026 CS2 season

Berlin, Germany – January 9, 2026 (15:00 CET) – Berlin International Gaming (BIG) today announced a major addition to its Counter-Strike 2 division: Benjamin “blameF” Bremer joins from fnatic and will take over as Team Captain and in-game leader (IGL). A proven elite performer, blameF was ranked No. 6 in HLTV’s Top 20 players of 2020, has made four consecutive appearances in HLTV’s annual Top 20 list (2020–2023), and earned an HLTV MVP award at the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022.

BIG also confirmed the return of former player Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch as Assistant Coach, supporting Head Coach Sebastian “xenn” Hoch, as the organization accelerates its rebuild for the 2026 season.

The signing of blameF marks a clear statement of intent for BIG’s 2026 season. Bringing in an established leader from a top-tier international organization underlines BIG’s ambition to return to consistent contention. At the same time, tiziaN’s return adds a familiar voice with deep understanding of the organization, bridging competitive ambition with the cultural foundations that have historically defined BIG at its best.

CGO Roman Reinhardt on tiziaN’s return (Assistant Coach)

“Tizian is BIG, in my eyes. He helped shape this organization for years – he knows the highs, the setbacks, the pressure – and that’s exactly why he understands what it takes to succeed here. Having him back as Assistant Coach feels extremely right. He brings the player perspective first-hand, knows what it means to be on stage, and has a strong instinct for team dynamics. From the very first practices, Tizian has already been a real boost for the team.” Roman Reinhardt, CGO, Berlin International Gaming (BIG)

CGO Roman Reinhardt on signing blameF (Team Captain and IGL)

“Benjamin has been at an absolute top level individually for a long time, but what mattered even more to me were our conversations. He has a clear vision of how Counter-Strike needs to be played, how a team must function, and what responsibility an IGL has to carry. In team discussions, you immediately feel that the guys listen to him – he leads not by being loud, but with substance. He brings structure, direction, and accountability. That’s exactly what we wanted.” Roman Reinhardt, CGO, Berlin International Gaming (BIG)

CEO Daniel Finkler on the rebuild and new leadership

“Going into the 2026 season with this level of leadership and quality makes me genuinely confident. With blameF, we’re signing an international top player who shares our philosophy and has deliberately chosen to take on responsibility as captain. He brings clarity, experience, and standards from elite environments. I also want to thank fnatic for a professional and smooth transfer process. I’m very happy to welcome tiziaN back to the BIG family in a coaching role. I want to thank our partners for their ongoing support, and I also want to thank Marc Staperfeld, a long-term shareholder of BIG, for his continued commitment, which has been instrumental in making this rebuild possible. Thanks as well to Roman Reinhardt, our CGO, for delivering this roster through intensive negotiations and for creating the environment around the team. Now we start 2026 with full energy. #GOBIG” Daniel Finkler, CEO, Berlin International Gaming (BIG)
