Berlin, Deutschland, 2. Juli 2025 – Berlin International Gaming freut sich, die Rückkehr der BIG Academy (Counter Strike) bekannt zu geben! Mit diesem Schritt möchten wir die deutsche Counter-Strike-Szene erneut beleben und junge Talente fördern, um sie auf den Sprung in die internationale Spitze vorzubereiten.
Das neue BIG Academy Team besteht aus einer vielversprechenden Mischung aus deutschen und internationalen Talenten:

Ziel der BIG Academy ist es, diese Spieler optimal auf die T1-Szene vorzubereiten. Bei Bedarf können die Academy-Spieler zudem das Main-Team unterstützen und so erste Erfahrungen sammeln. Wir sind gespannt auf die Entwicklung dieser jungen Talente und freuen uns darauf, die Zukunft des deutschen CS E-Sports aktiv mitzugestalten!

Wir bei BIG bauen unsere CS2 Academy neu auf – ein Projekt mit großer Tradition, das in der Vergangenheit maßgeblich zu unserem Erfolg beigetragen hat. Die Academy war stets ein Fundament unserer Counter-Strike-Philosophie und wird in Zukunft eine noch zentralere Rolle in unserer strategischen Ausrichtung einnehmen. Unser Anspruch ist es, Talente nicht nur zu finden, sondern selbst auszubilden und nachhaltig zu entwickeln.
Ein Schlüssel zum Erfolg dieses Projekts ist die richtige Führung – und mit Basti „Xenn“ haben wir genau den richtigen Mann. Von Anfang an war klar, dass er die Verantwortung für unser Academy- und Nachwuchsprogramm übernehmen wird. Seine Rolle ist dabei doppelt entscheidend: Er wird in Zukunft das Main Team wieder als Assistant Coach begleiten, was eine enge inhaltliche Verzahnung garantiert. Gleichzeitig übernimmt er beim Academy-Team die strategische Leitung. Genau diese Kombination aus Nähe zum Profi-Team und struktureller Führung macht Basti zum perfekten Kopf dieses Projekts.
Mit freeze haben wir zudem den idealen Teamcaptain gefunden – einen Spieler, der nicht nur individuell stark ist, sondern das Team führen, fordern und auf dem Server zusammenhalten kann. Mit David (prosus) haben wir natürlich eine absoluten Game Changer im Acadeymteam, von ihm werden sich die Jungs auch vieles abschauen können und er wird ihm helfen, den nächsten Schritt zu machen.
Gemeinsam legen die Jungs das Fundament für eine neue Generation an Spielern, die das Potenzial haben, eines Tages das BIG-Trikot im Mainteam zu tragen.
Die neue Academy ist für uns kein Nebenprojekt – sie ist ein elementarer Teil unserer Zukunftsstrategie. Wir investieren gezielt, um Strukturen zu schaffen, mit denen wir Talente fördern, fordern und an die Weltspitze heranführen. Das ist BIG im besten Sinne – und es beginnt genau hier.

Nach harten, aber unglaublich produktiven Wochen freue ich mich riesig, euch heute endlich unser Nachwuchs-Projekt vorstellen zu dürfen. Für uns ist das ein gewaltiger Schritt nach vorn: Es schärft den Konkurrenzkampf, setzt unsere Main Spieler unter positivem Druck und es bringt frisches Feuer in die gesamte Organisation.
In den vergangenen Wochen haben wir unzählige Talente gescoutet und getestet. Vielen Dank an alle, die dabei waren – eure Leistung hat gezeigt, wie viel Potenzial in der Szene steckt. Umso stolzer bin ich, jetzt unser Academy Team zu präsentieren ->
FreeZe (Lukas) – Ein langjähriger Weggefährte und für mich ein absolute Säule für dieses Projekt. Er bringt sehr viel Erfahrung und Ehrgeiz mit und wird den jungen Spieler viel beibringen.
prosus (David) – David an Bord zu haben, ist purer Luxus, er ist eine absolute Waffe und bringt sehr viel Firepower, Erfahrung und Ruhe mit, hiervon können sich die jungen Wilden einiges abschauen.
w1dow (Phillip) – Mit ihm habe ich bereits bei ALTERNATE Academy gearbeitet und sein Potenzial früh erkannt. Durch Phillip besteht unser Core auch komplett aus deutschen Spieler, was mir persönlich sehr wichtig war. Er übernimmt die Anchor Rollen und bringt die nötige Stabilität mit.
xonn1k (Egzon) – Trotz mehrerer Angebote hat er sich für uns entschieden. Ein extrem talentierter Spieler mit massiver Firepower, an ihm werden wir noch viel Spaß haben, ich freue mich enorm auf die Zusammenarbeit.
NaYz (Dima) – Unser AWP‑Juwel und aktuell die spannendste Nachwuchs AWP auf dem Markt. Ihn im Team zu haben, ist ein echter Coup für uns, er ist bereits in seinen jungen Jahren schon sehr kommunikativ und sowas ist eine sehr wichtige Eigenschaft als Talent.
Die ersten Officials liegen bereits hinter uns und diese sahen sehr vielversprechend aus. Wir können es kaum erwarten, der Community zu zeigen, wozu dieses Team in der Lage ist.
Personal Update
Wie einige schon vermutet haben, werde ich die Rolle des Head Coach im Main Team nicht weiterführen und wieder als Co‑Trainer zurücktreten. Mein Dank gilt Roman und Jarosz für das Vertrauen in den vergangenen Monaten. Ich freue mich darauf, künftig in neuer Konstellation weiter an unserem gemeinsamen Erfolg zu arbeiten.

The goal of the BIG Academy is to prepare these players for the Tier 1 scene. If needed, Academy players can also support the main team and gain experience at that level. We at BIG are rebuilding our CS2 Academy – a project with a rich tradition that has significantly contributed to our success in the past. The Academy has always been a cornerstone of our Counter-Strike philosophy and will take on an even more central role in our strategic direction going forward. Our ambition is not just to discover talent, but to train and develop it sustainably ourselves.
A key to the success of this project is the right leadership – and with Basti “Xenn” we have found exactly the right person. From the very beginning, it was clear that he would take over responsibility for our Academy and youth program. His role is doubly important: he will rejoin the main team as Assistant Coach, ensuring close content integration. At the same time, he will take on the strategic leadership of the Academy team. It’s exactly this combination of proximity to the pro team and structural guidance that makes Basti the perfect head of this project.
With FreeZe, we’ve also found the ideal team captain – a player who is not only individually strong but can lead, challenge, and hold the team together on the server. With David “prosus”, we obviously have an absolute game changer in the Academy team. The guys will learn a lot from him, and he’ll help them take the next step.
Together, these guys are laying the foundation for a new generation of players who have the potential to one day wear the BIG jersey for the main team.

After tough but incredibly productive weeks, I am absolutely thrilled to finally present our youth project to you today. For us, this is a huge step forward: it sharpens the competition, puts our main players under positive pressure, and brings fresh energy into the entire organization.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve scouted and tested countless talents. Thank you to everyone who was involved – your performance showed how much potential this scene holds. All the more proud I am to now present our Academy team ->
FreeZe (Lukas) – A long-time companion and an absolute pillar for this project. He brings a lot of experience and ambition and will teach the young players a great deal.
prosus (David) – Having David on board is pure luxury, he’s an absolute weapon and brings a lot of firepower, experience, and calmness – the young guns can learn a lot from him.
w1dow (Phillip) – I’ve already worked with him at ALTERNATE Academy and recognized his potential early. With Phillip, our core now consists entirely of German players, which was very important to me personally. He takes over the anchor roles and brings the necessary stability.
xonn1k (Egzon) – Despite several offers, he chose us. An extremely talented player with massive firepower – we’re going to have a lot of fun with him. I’m really looking forward to working together.
NaYz (Dima) – Our AWP gem and currently the most exciting up-and-coming AWP on the market. Having him on the team is a real coup for us. Even at his young age, he’s already very communicative, which is a crucial trait as a talent.

As some may have suspected, I will no longer continue in the role of Head Coach for the main team and will return to my position as Assistant Coach. My thanks go to Roman and Jarosz for their trust over the past few months. I look forward to continuing our shared success in this new setup.
